¡Qué versión tan perfecta de Bocanada! Casi ni un ruido en la superficie, los graves, medios y agudos están super claros. El sonido está muy bien definido, muuy recomendable!
Mi cinta de este álbum, por alguna razón, no tiene esa tipografía extraña en la cubierta del cassette. Usa una fuente distinta y tiene el logo de Dolby (lo que indica que tiene reducción de ruido Dolby). A pesar de eso, la calidad de audio es muy buena, aunque en algunas canciones está un poco saturado (por ejemplo, el coro de "Puente" o casi toda "Perdonar es Divino"). Curiosamente, no tiene tanto problema de clipping como el CD, aunque usan el mismo master (con el fade-in en "Río Babel", la versión original de "Beautiful" y el final original de "Aquí & Ahora (Y después)").
It's fantastic that this album is being reissued more widely, but sadly, it's another one of those typical, low-effort releases we've seen too much of lately. It's a standard GZ cut pressed at MRP. The discs aren't overly noisy, but the sound is quite flat. It's in that middle ground where, if you like having music playing in the background, it'll do the job, but the more you listen, the more the details fade away. The gatefold is of lower quality than previous reissues. If you're familiar with the generic card stock that GZ and similar plants use, you'll know what I mean. The Salt cut might be a bit harder to find, and it has its own pressing issues (it's not exactly quiet either). However, the mastering is dynamic and really stands out. It's such a joy to listen to, and when you compare it to this one, the difference is even more noticeable. Even the packaging is better, with the discs being 180g and the card stock heavier. If you're a fan of this album, you definitely want to hunt down the Salt cut. Don't spend your money here when you could get better sound quality. If you just want to add this to your collection, this MRP pressing will suffice. By the way, this version also includes the extended version of Beautiful.
I placed a pre-order via Rough Trade (~$30) during a NYC visit. I'd owned two copies before (both 2020 Argentinian editions) but sent them back. The needle kept skipping and landing on the center labels, plus some tracks were edited. But wow, this record sounds amazing! The 2020 version didn't sound like this at all. As someone else mentioned, yeah, it's got paper inners instead of glossy. It's been a bit since I listened to this album on stream, but for some reason, certain songs seem like remasters or alternate versions? Maybe I'm imagining things or just misremembering, but some parts feel unfamiliar. Regardless, it's sonically fantastic. There's a bit of static on D1 and a small mark on A3. Definitely recommend grabbing a copy. In short: top-notch pressing, okay packaging, slight static.
To my delight, I stumbled upon this gem at my neighborhood record shop and snatched it up right away. It turns out this release hit the US on 8/29/25. In a nutshell, the sound quality is fantastic. My records are quite flat, though one has a tiny skip, but it's barely noticeable—good enough for me and likely for most, except maybe the most meticulous collectors. My first disc had some vinyl roughness on the edges and a bit of extra material in the center hole, but I easily fixed that. The second disc was perfect. The vinyl is mostly silent, with just a touch of noise during the quiet passage in Beautiful, but I can't remember if that's part of the original recording. Rio Babel shines on this set, with crisp and detailed percussion. Puente's guitar riff, which reminds me of Touch of Grey by the Grateful Dead, also sounds amazing here. It comes with just printed inner sleeves and no inserts. So, grab this record while you can and expand your collection with this Argentinian masterpiece.
