Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
This Plain Recordings vinyl is absolute rubbish. The "180g" record is full of noise, and the mastering from the CD source is weak and thin. I wasted $23 on this impulse purchase. Next time, I'll steer clear of anything pressed by Plain Recordings.
Wow! I kept my fingers crossed hoping this would sound great after reading the reviews, and I wasn't let down. It's got a nice clean and crisp sound, and that fuzz bass really packs a punch. The separation with the vocal harmonies and cymbals/toms is pretty good too. This thing is gonna get a lot of playtime.
Against my better judgement, Plain really nailed it this time. The sound quality is fantastic.
The quality of my copy is fantastic. I'd heard some negative feedback about plain pressings, but mine have always been good. I considered selling it, thinking there might be a 30th anniversary edition next year, but this one's perfect and has a lovely color variant.
The 1995 original pressing is fantastic. It's your typical thin vinyl, but the overall quality is great. The sound is consistently good throughout, smooth and full. When I compare it to the 2019 reissue, they sound identical to me. Both have the same little quirks, like the vocals being really low in the chorus of "Where’s Summer B." and some parts that are almost too sharp but not quite. So, unless you're really set on having an original, I'd suggest going with the 2019 reissue to save some cash.
