This album is an incredible journey from beginning to end. DeJohnette's drumming is truly a work of art. The pressing is nice and quiet, with a great sound range, and it's very affordable too. It's definitely a must-have for your collection!

As a newcomer to ECM, I've found that the standout feature in my small collection is the atmosphere and sound quality, and "Batik" is no exception. Even the most ordinary elements, like cymbals in the background, grab my attention as I imagine the delicate touch needed to produce such sound. I've learned that to truly appreciate this record, you must actively listen and savor the music at its best. It's been a fantastic listening experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend it!
