  • Manilow's Enjoyable Classics

    4 out of 5 stars
    Huu_Ixrpbbejn25 March 2025United States🇺🇸

Barry Manilow has long been labeled as "not cool," often seen as the face of easy-listening music. His style leans more towards classic show tunes rather than hard rock. I stumbled upon this album in the bargain bin and thought I'd give it a spin. Tracks like "Cloudburst," "Flashy Lady," and "Could It Be Magic" are all standout tunes. "I Am Your Child" is a tad too sweet for my taste, and the opening track "Sing It" feels more like a vanity project than something you'd want to listen to. Manilow and Bette Midler crossed paths early in her career; her hit "Friends" proves how she took Manilow's original and turned it into something electrifying with her performance. Overall, this album is quite enjoyable.
