Webster enthusiasts will absolutely adore this recording. Ben's expansive tone, breezy playing, and natural sound shine through every track. This particular release is masterfully produced, delivering stunning audio quality, flawless depth, and incredible 3D imaging.
These recordings are really straightforward and well done, some of the best takes on Autumn Leaves, with Adderley's as the standard.
Right upfront, these recordings are spot on, one of the finest takes on Autumn Leaves, with Adderley's as the standard.
I stumbled upon this gem at a secondhand shop, drawn in by its cover without knowing the recording. Turns out, it's quite an enjoyable album! The sound quality is excellent, with each instrument sounding rich and distinct. It's a live recording from Copenhagen, but there's hardly any background noise—just the occasional soft clink of a glass, which I find rather charming. The music has a much more contemporary feel compared to, say, an RVG release. Perfect for some late-night listening.
Pressing is quite bad. Pitch isn't right in some spots. Huge gap in the center. Sounds like electronic stereo.
