Product Description

Wilco's debut album, A.M., is a captivating blend of alt-country, Americana, and indie rock that showcases the band's raw talent and unique sound. Released on March 28, 1995, under Sire/Warner Records, this 44-minute journey through 13 tracks is a testament to Wilco's ability to craft memorable, heartfelt music.

The album opens with the energetic "I Must Be High," setting the tone for a collection that balances twangy guitar riffs, soulful vocals, and introspective lyrics. Tracks like "Casino Queen" and "Box Full of Letters" highlight Wilco's storytelling prowess, while "Shouldn't Be Ashamed" and "Pick Up the Change" showcase their knack for creating catchy, melodic hooks. The band's versatility shines through in songs like "That's Not the Issue" and "It's Just That Simple," which blend rock and country influences seamlessly.

A.M. also features standout tracks like "Should've Been in Love," a poignant ballad that showcases Jeff Tweedy's emotive songwriting, and "Passenger Side," a hauntingly beautiful duet with Jay Bennett. The album closes with "Too Far Apart," a reflective tune that leaves a lasting impression.

With its rich instrumentation, heartfelt lyrics, and dynamic range, A.M. is a compelling introduction to Wilco's discography. It's an album that invites repeated listens, revealing new layers and nuances with each playthrough. Fans of alt-country and Americana will find much to love in this classic debut from one of the genre's most enduring bands.

This 2025 Limited Edition Numbered Reissue LP is housed in a gatefold, pressed on 180g vinyl.

  • Rhino's 90s Reissues

    5 out of 5 stars
    vubmvsu11 January 2026United States🇺🇸

Rhino has done it again with another fantastic sounding release! I'm really hoping they'll bring us more reissues from the 90s soon.

  • Finest Noise-Free Version

    5 out of 5 stars
    Nakhoc_Veas_Voapv27 September 2025United States🇺🇸

This album isn't exactly a groundbreaking audio experience, but this version is hands down the finest I've come across. It's got a smooth, noise-free sound that's really impressive.

  • Wilco's Worst, Rhino's Worst

    4 out of 5 stars
    iyusdeculi4913 September 2025United States🇺🇸

This Wilco album is by far the poorest sounding one I have. It's painfully shrill and overly bright, with too much detail that ends up being dull and harsh. I'm not joking around, sadly. I own all his other albums, mostly original pressings, and they're way better. Maybe I got a bad copy? Also, I bought 5 records from Rhino Hifi, but they only sent this one out of the five - they kept the rest of my money. I had to open a dispute with my bank and file a complaint with the FTC.

  • Superior Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    xgufa3ond12 September 2025United States🇺🇸

I wasn't sure about getting this one since I already have the VMP and Deluxe versions. Though I like the extra songs on the Deluxe, the sound quality on those just doesn't compare. This pressing has a clarity and detail I've never noticed before, and I've played this album plenty. The bass hits hard, and you can really hear each instrument separate. Jeff's vocals are right up front and super clear. The record itself is dead quiet with no crackles or flaws. I'm gonna sell my VMP copy and this will be my main one from here on out.

  • VMP Pressings Disappoint

    3 out of 5 stars
    fzookjnobuPU2 September 2025United States🇺🇸

Harsh 'S' sounds all over this album. What a bummer. It could've been amazing. Every VMP pressing I've tried is awful. I'm done with them.
