SP has put out another fantastic album here. It's been a while since I checked out their stuff after Melon Collie, but I'm really digging this new direction. The sound quality on this pressing is top-notch, and the packaging is absolutely stunning. I do feel like there are a couple of tracks that could've been left off, which is the only reason I'm not giving it a higher rating. Still, the music is incredibly enjoyable, and I'm really loving what they've done with their new sound.
Amazing album, I haven't been this into a SP record since Zeitgeist. Such an incredible new release.
The record plays clean with no pops or clicks, though there's some noticeable noise between songs. It's alright, the mastering has a good punch. The pressing is decent, but not exceptional...
Does anyone have info on how scarce this release is? We need more people to chime in!
I stumbled upon a used ivory vinyl copy. It's got the original shrink wrap with a big sticker on the side, but the ivory sticker with the barcode is missing. The wrap's been cut to get to the disc, so I can't check out the gatefold art. It comes with the lyric booklet and a download card (though I haven't tested that out yet). The runoff is a tad different from what's listed here, missing just the #23 and #42. The person who posted this didn't include pics of the back, gatefold, or media, so I can't compare the rest. Does anyone know what I've got here? Someone on Reddit hinted that mine might be a bootleg. I only forked over $15.99, so I won't be too bummed if it's not the real deal. All in all, it's a nice package.
