I haven't got an original copy of this album to compare it to this anniversary edition (I held off because I saw so many terrible reviews about the first ones), and… well, based on what I've read, I'm really happy that I did wait! First off, the pressing is stunning. Mine's got loads of orange splatter and it really pops against that beautiful deep blue. Super unique. I'm also a big fan of the foil cover and how it glimmers in the light, plus the gatefold, extra poster, and the lyric inner sleeve. The sound quality is FANTASTIC! My copy's got a bit of minor noise here and there, but overall, it sounds incredible. The bass is thumping and the whole thing is super well mastered and pressed. 9/10 overall, totally recommend grabbing a copy!
Having read numerous reviews highlighting the poor quality of the original pressings of this album, I decided to purchase both this anniversary edition and the standard black LP for comparison. There's no contest; this anniversary edition outperforms the black version in every way and is definitely worth the additional cost. My primary gripe with the black version was its low volume, and when I cranked it up to make it audible, a ton of distracting surface noise became apparent. The anniversary edition, however, has a normal volume level, sounds significantly better, and has minimal surface noise. I can only really notice it between tracks, and even then, it's barely noticeable.
I purchased the 2025 re-release hoping for a high-quality pressing, and indeed, it delivers. No complaints on the listening experience. A 180g edition would've been a fitting tribute to this extraordinary artist and songwriter. Maybe in the future? Kudos, Ms. Eilish, from a Brother in France.
The hue is totally not like it’s shown. They said it was blue and orange, and in the pics it seemed blue and red, but mine turned out blue and yellow. The yellow looks super gross to me, but the album is awesome! I'm loving the tunes, and the cover is also really neat 'cause it's so glossy.
The record I got was all scratched and had loads of surface noise, which totally ruined it, and some bits even skipped. I swapped it. But the next one had the same surface noise problem. For an album that's just vocals, it's way too obvious to enjoy listening. The packaging was weird too - it was in plastic with the top open, sealed with two tiny round clear stickers - for a NEW vinyl? The packaging was pretty cheap, but that's usually the case with her LPs. Not worth keeping for over $30.
