Product description

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical piano with Rudolf Serkin's masterful rendition of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Concertos Nos. 12 & 27, alongside Béla Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 1. Released on October 1, 2016, by Praga Digitals, this album is a testament to Serkin's virtuosity and the enduring appeal of these classical masterpieces.

The album spans a rich 79 minutes, featuring nine tracks that showcase Serkin's exquisite technique and profound musicality. The Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-Flat Major, K. 595, opens with a lively Allegro, followed by the serene Larghetto and the spirited Allegretto. The Piano Concerto No. 12 in A Major, K. 414/385p, follows with its own Allegro, Andante, and a rousing Rondo. The album concludes with Béla Bartók's Piano Concerto No. 1, featuring the Allegro moderato, Andante, and Allegro molto.

Recorded with the Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Eugene Ormandy, the Marlboro Festival Orchestra led by Alexander Schneider, and the Columbia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Georg Szell, this album captures the essence of these concertos with unparalleled clarity and depth. Serkin's collaboration with these esteemed orchestras and conductors brings out the nuanced beauty and technical brilliance of each piece.
