It's a real bummer they split up "Almeda" and "Time (Is)" by putting them on opposite sides.
The pressing on my copy was not great. But wow, what an incredible record! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.
2019's standout albums for me, with top-notch production from JCK and Chassol.
While I'd flipped through her music collection a few months prior, When I Get Home marks my first deep dive into Solange's work after stumbling upon a copy at a local record sale. This aptly titled album exudes a cozy and welcoming vibe, as if you're invited to her home. I was initially let down by the absence of a CD release, but I reckon the scarcity also enhances the record's allure. A stunning blend of Hip-Hop, Downtempo, Jazz, and some of the more vintage Electronic genres.
Received a total crap version, but the album is pure ART. So much better than ASATT, and in such a good way. Apart from the music, the inner sleeve is simple and nice as always. Really blows, though.
