Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
It seems the clear vinyl pressing is back in stock at the Thrill Jockey online store: https://thrilljockey.com/products/what-one-becomes
This album is amazing! The vinyl quality is fantastic, and I haven't noticed any problems with it. I'm a big fan of Sumac, which is surprising since I usually don't go for sludge music, like 97 percent of the time. But this record is absolutely brilliant!
Aaron Turner wasn't always my favorite, but this new album is a game-changer. He's gotten insanely heavy, backed by a band that's locked in tighter than ever. Three guys at the top of their game. Brian Cook's skills are no secret, and drummer Nick Yacyshyn is a name you'll want to remember (that drumming is out of this world!!!). This band is something special, with a massive range of sound. Absolutely fantastic album.
... but that red vinyl seems to have a bit of an issue, like a tiny scratchy sound. Has anyone else noticed this?
