Truly a delightful and captivating performance by 3 fantastic artists. Being a rather soft recording, every little scratch, tick and pop really stands out.
Let me talk about another thing: This album is absolutely fantastic, and surprisingly, it doesn't have a rhythm section. It features a clarinet, saxophone, trombone, and guitar. The artwork on the cover is really well done. As for the music, it comes across a bit muffled and dull to my ears, but that might just be how the original recording was. There's nothing else to compare it to. There's some hissing background noise on the first side (Western Suite). All in all, it's a nice addition to my collection, especially for just 20 euros.
Great sounding 1969/70s pressing. Quality beats other Atlantic reissues I’ve come across. The cover is tough and the disc feels substantial, plus it sounds fantastic. The tunes are a blast. No usual rhythm section, just Jim Hall on guitar. It all works really well and is a joy to listen to.
