Product description

Wenchen Qin's "The Border of the Mountains" is a captivating orchestral album that showcases the composer's unique blend of traditional and contemporary influences. Released on June 9, 2017, under the Naxos label, this album is a testament to Qin's ability to create evocative and dynamic compositions. The album features the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Gottfried Rabl, with solo performances by Mengla Huang on violin, Li-Wei Qin on cello, and Qianyuan Zhang on suona.

The album's centerpiece is the Violin Concerto "The Border of the Mountains," a three-movement work that explores the vast and varied landscapes of the mountains. Each movement delves into different aspects of the mountainous terrain, from the serene and tranquil to the rugged and untamed. The Cello Concerto "Dawn" is another highlight, with its haunting melodies and intricate harmonies that evoke the first light of day. The album concludes with the Suona Concerto "Calling for Phoenix," a vibrant and energetic piece that showcases the traditional Chinese instrument in a contemporary setting.

With a total duration of 1 hour and 4 minutes, "The Border of the Mountains" is a rich and immersive listening experience that highlights Wenchen Qin's compositional prowess and the exceptional talents of the performers. Whether you're a fan of classical music or simply looking to discover new sounds, this album is sure to captivate and inspire.
