Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
This is a fantastic live recording from 1976, showcasing some excellent hard bop and be bop. The Holland pressing delivers a superb sound that's warm and crisp. The soundstage isn't expansive, but it's clean and very well-defined. It reminds me a bit of ECM pressings. I wish for a larger soundstage and perhaps more of the room's ambiance. Still, I'm really enjoying the sound, and I believe you'll appreciate the music too. The band is absolutely top-notch, and the music is top class as well.
Bad production ruins this album. The blue note live record at the keystone is better and has a superior set list.
