Product description

Julian Lloyd Webber, the renowned British cellist, conductor, and broadcaster, presents "Unexpected Songs," a captivating classical album released in 2006 under Warner Classics. This 58-minute collection features 20 tracks, showcasing a diverse range of compositions that highlight Webber's exceptional artistry and versatility.

The album begins with a traditional Irish folk song, "Star of County Down," followed by the enchanting "Lady D'Arbanville" and Astor Piazzolla's evocative "Oblivion." Webber's renditions of classical pieces like Chopin's "Prelude No. 4 in E Minor" and Elgar's "Sea Pictures" demonstrate his profound musicality and technical prowess. The inclusion of lesser-known works such as "Kashmiri Love Song" and "African Crib Carol" adds a unique and refreshing touch to the album.
