  • Burton's Eclectic Sound Journey

    5 out of 5 stars

This album is quite the mix, I must say. "Henniger Flats" kicks things off with a powerful surge of acid rock guitar, while "Turn Of The Century" could easily pass as the instrumental backdrop to a forgotten Nick Drake tune. A few tracks showcase what I can only describe as trippy fiddle work, courtesy of Richard Greene's violin. "Triple Portrait" hints at Burton's later team-ups with tango legend Astor Piazzolla. The sound quality on this pressing is impressive, with Joel Dorn's production offering a rich, detailed, and immersive soundscape. My copy plays smoothly, with just a hint of surface noise here and there.
