  • Haunting Atmosphere, Top-Notch Pressing

    5 out of 5 stars
    DzJekeuApril 14, 2024United States🇺🇸

THREE DAY MOON boasts a truly captivating, immersive, and haunting atmosphere throughout. "La Folle" is outright spine-chilling, reminiscent of a missing scene's soundtrack from Kubrick's THE SHINING. The bits and pieces woven into "S. C. & W." somehow evoke British Toytown psychedelia from around '68. I genuinely loved this album, picked it up from the old vinyl stash at WSGE but only just got to spin it. The Wakefield pressing is top-notch, it sounds like...well, it sounds like so many other ECM releases...minimal yet not desolate, clinical but cozy, all-encompassing but light...fantastic. My copy has some cat scratch marks on the upper part of the sleeve, but the vinyl plays smoothly, with hardly any surface noise.
