About Beverly Kenney

Beverly Kenney, an American jazz vocalist born on January 29, 1932, in Harrison, New Jersey, captivated audiences with her unique voice that blended the charm of Blossom Dearie and the allure of Marilyn Monroe. Between 1955 and 1959, she recorded seven albums, showcasing her sophisticated phrasing and exquisitely nuanced style. Accompanied by renowned musicians like Joe Newman, Kenney's music exuded an intelligent, seductive, and melancholic charm. Tragically, her promising career was cut short when she passed away at the young age of 28 in 1960. Despite her brief time in the spotlight, Beverly Kenney remains a celebrated figure in jazz, remembered for her tragic story and her significant contributions to the genre.
