Trash pressing. Awful inconsistent. Jagged edges on vinyl. Clicks/pops (not skips). The "metal" - forgettable riffs. Singing sounds unprofessional. Audio production is brickwalled. Compressors set to max ratio and as quick as possible. Give it a pass. Can't recommend it. $45 wasted. 👎
The sound quality and music on this album are absolutely fantastic! It's easily one of my top picks this year. The discs are protected with thin anti-static sleeves, which is a nice touch, but it's a bummer there aren't any paper or card sleeves on top. The flimsiness makes it a bit tricky to slide the inner sleeves back into the outer ones :( It also comes with a booklet of liner notes. I've been a long-time fan of Bear McCreary's soundtrack work, so when I found out he created this concept album featuring tons of rock and metal artists, I was hooked—I adore both genres! And let me tell you, it's incredibly impressive! A true showcase of his compositional range and the talented artists and actors he's collaborated with over the years. Now I'm definitely going to check out the comic/art book that accompanies the album :)
