  • Louis Prima's Wildest Comeback

    5 out of 5 stars
    IpxvujhawHewusraJanuary 6, 2025United States🇺🇸

In my opinion, this could very well be the top Louis Prima album, possibly even surpassing "The Wildest!". After a seven-year stretch of more laid-back music, Louis Prima is back to his wild self. Throughout the album, from the start of "Them there eyes" to the final beats of "Che la luna", the swing and entertainment factor never dip. I must confess, Gia's voice can be a bit squeaky at times and doesn't quite match Keely's sultry tone, but that doesn't take away from the sheer joy of listening. Louis, Sam, and the Witnesses are at their peak here. You can practically feel the fun they're having on stage. It's amazing to hear them all burst into laughter during "Dinga won't ding". Even with all the silliness, the music is consistently fantastic. After my first listen, I was drenched in sweat. It's just that infectious. You can't help but dance along. It's impossible to stay seated.

  • Louis Prima's Wildest Return

    5 out of 5 stars
    AdppahtumRiqukfiOctober 10, 2024United States🇺🇸

In my opinion, this might just be the top Louis Prima album, possibly even surpassing "The Wildest!". After a seven-year break filled with calmer tunes, Louis Prima is back with his signature wild energy. Every track, from "Them there eyes" to "Che la luna", is packed with an incredible amount of swing and entertainment. Sure, Gia's voice can be a bit squeaky at times and doesn't quite match Keely's sultry tone, but that doesn't take away from the sheer joy of listening to Louis, Sam, and the Witnesses at their absolute best. You can practically hear the fun they're having on stage, especially when they all burst into laughter during "Dinga won't ding". Even with all the playful antics, the music remains outstanding. After my first listen, I was drenched in sweat because it's impossible not to dance along. You won't be able to stay seated!

About Louis Prima

Louis Prima, born in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, was a dynamic force in the world of jazz and swing music. As a trumpeter, singer, and bandleader, Prima's career spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark on the music scene. His exuberant stage presence and raspy voice captivated audiences, making him a beloved figure in both jazz and Las Vegas entertainment. Prima's musical journey began with the violin, but it was his mastery of the trumpet and his charismatic performances that truly set him apart. Beyond his musical prowess, Prima also lent his talents to acting, notably voicing King Louis in Disney's "The Jungle Book." His personal life was as vibrant as his performances, with marriages to Keely Smith and Gia Maione, and a family that included children Lena Prima and Louis Prima Jr. Prima's legacy endures, inspiring new generations of musicians and fans alike.
