Product description

Sir Simon Rattle, renowned for his dynamic interpretations and innovative programming, presents "The Jazz Album," a captivating blend of classical and jazz influences that defies conventional categorization. Released in 1987 under Warner Classics, this album is a testament to Rattle's versatility and his ability to bridge musical genres.

Featuring the London Sinfonietta, "The Jazz Album" showcases a diverse range of compositions, from the vibrant "La Création du monde" by Darius Milhaud to the iconic "Rhapsody in Blue" by George Gershwin, orchestrated by Ferde Grofé. The album also includes works by Igor Stravinsky, such as the "Ebony Concerto," and popular jazz standards like "Sweet Sue" and "Makin' Whoopee!" performed with a classical twist.

With a runtime of 1 hour and 13 minutes, the album offers a rich and engaging listening experience.
