About Elisabeth Schwarzkopf

Renowned for her interpretations of lieder, Viennese operetta, and the works of Mozart, Wagner, and Richard Strauss, Schwarzkopf's career spanned over three decades, establishing her as one of the greatest sopranos of the 20th century. Schwarzkopf's life and career were marked by her dedication to her craft, her marriage to the renowned record producer Walter Legge, and her eventual retirement from the stage to focus on voice teaching.
