First few songs on each side got a bunch of clicks and pops, even after giving the record a thorough clean. But the rest of the tracks sound amazing!
In 1985, following a 15-year stint in the realm of radio-friendly pop tunes, Ms. Streisand made a triumphant return to her musical origins, delivering what is widely regarded as her magnum opus. "The Broadway Album" was a bold venture: during an era when theater music was deemed unmarketable, Ms. Streisand defied conventions, handpicked 16 stellar compositions from Broadway musicals, and poured her heart into each performance. The album captivated millions with its impeccably refined production and a voice at its zenith, claiming the top spot on the charts in early 1986, securing a Grammy nomination for album of the year, and earning Ms. Streisand the Grammy for best pop vocal performance by a female artist of the year. "The Broadway Album" kicks off with what might be Ms. Streisand's most iconic recording, a rapid-fire number titled "Putting It Together" from "Sunday in the Park with George," penned by Stephen Sondheim, who tailored the lyrics to Ms. Streisand's wish to explore the eternal struggle between art and commerce in the song. Her rendition—narrative, emotive, articulate, soaring, daring—epitomizes the essence of classic Streisand.

Fantastic pressing, cover art and audio quality. You'd only want to purchase the album for ‘Send in the Clowns’ & ‘Somewhere’. The rest of it, Babs really goes overboard, it's mostly C-grade stuff.

With 31 platinum, 54 gold, and 15 multi-platinum albums under her belt, this one fits right in. As Billboard noted in their review of Streisand's latest album, Walls, 'she remains the powerhouse of pop music' (2018). Words couldn't be more accurate.
