If only Jack White would channel half the energy he spends boasting about the vinyl comeback into ensuring his pressings are up to snuff… Perhaps then we'd finally receive the quality these vital recordings demand. My copy looks like someone shook a jar of dust and sprinkled it all over the record before stuffing it into a sleeve that feels like sandpaper. It's a scratched-up mess. What a letdown. I'd been holding out for a solid repress of this album for ages. Rest in peace, Ahmad.
way more lively than those Be With and Verve By Request reissues that just came out. can't wrap my head around it being just a trio, the sound is so full and room-filling.
Is it just me or does this record have some crackly bits? I've had three copies now, and they all have that surface noise.
I gotta tell you about my experience, this record is hands down the best in my collection. I ain't even gonna try to describe how musically amazing it is, I reckon it's pretty clear to everyone. But let me tell ya, this specific pressing is top-notch. The sound is so crisp, I could almost scoop it up with a spoon. I've never heard this album sound this good before.
In general, the audio quality is quite nice. Barely any hiss, just a few random cracks, even after I cleaned it. I'm glad to have this in my collection, and the sound is good enough for me.
