Product description

Immerse yourself in the dramatic intensity of Richard Strauss's "Salome," masterfully conducted by the renowned Rudolf Kempe. This 2015 release from MYTO Historical presents a remastered gem, drawn from newly discovered original tapes, offering a crisp and vivid listening experience. The album spans a captivating 2 hours and 3 minutes, featuring the full opera in its original German, with a richly detailed 19-page booklet providing context in English, French, and German.

Kempe, celebrated for his extensive and exceptional recordings of Strauss, leads the Staatskapelle Dresden in a powerful performance that brings to life the opulent and darkly alluring world of "Salome." The opera, known for its lush orchestration and the iconic "Dance of the Seven Veils," showcases the full range of Strauss's compositional genius. Kempe's interpretation is both precise and passionate, capturing the opera's sensuality, tragedy, and psychological depth.

This recording is a testament to Kempe's artistry and the enduring appeal of Strauss's masterpiece. Whether you're a seasoned opera enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a compelling journey through one of the most gripping and musically rich works in the classical repertoire.
