2000s finest album turns basic tunes into something amazingly awesome
Chris possesses a Cash-like charm that elevates almost every track to a hit. The excellence of his music truly sets it apart. Adore this double album.
This is an amazing album, it might just be one of my all-time favorite county records. I'm lucky to have a decent pressing. One thing I've noticed is that on the first disc, the vocals are way too loud and harsh, even when the volume is low. Apart from that, the sound quality is fantastic. However, it seems like many pressings have issues. But don't let that stop you from enjoying this album as a whole.
I'm rating this 4 stars (out of 5) for two reasons: 1) the audio mastering is absolutely top-notch. The vinyl version blows the streaming quality out of the water. 2) the pressing is surprisingly noise-free in terms of sound. However, the record itself looks like it's been through the wringer, but thankfully, it doesn't affect the audio quality at all.
While this music isn't my usual taste, I can tell it's quite good. It's a bit conventional, but that's kinda nice too. 3/5
