Great Album but Barry Gibb's voice might need a caution about long listening times, best to stick with one album at a stretch.
Thrilled I managed to snag this! It's an incredible version and at a fantastic price!
Kudos to the lads for venturing into a grittier musical territory with "Tragedy", but the song's title is, unfortunately, fitting when it comes to Barry's vocal performance, which seems to be channeling some sort of chipmunk impersonation. It's even more disheartening to see the twins joining in. A prime illustration of the old saying that just because you are able to do something, it doesn't necessarily mean you ought to. Naturally, that's just my personal take. This potential precursor to the BeeGees' disco era might not be my favorite, but this album, along with countless other disco records, certainly moved a lot of units. For me, this record served as proof that the BeeGees' "Spirit" had indeed taken flight.
Watch out for Russian counterfeits of this version. As of now, it's been taken down in Japan.
I can't believe no one's reviewed this pressing yet! The silver lining is, it's hands-down the finest version of this album out there. Mastering is incredibly smooth, with ample low-end, crisp mids and highs, and virtually no surface noise. I've had US and Japan pressings plus recent remasters, but they all pale next to this one.
