Stunningly crafted and arranged tunes. Created by one of music's big three, Ben Folds. I can't say how the CD sounds as I misplaced it, sadly.
I'm totally on board with what's been said already, it all sounds amazing! It was a bit of a spur-of-the-moment buy, I wasn't sure I needed it on vinyl but I'm really happy I got it.
Wow, the sound quality is just incredible. It's genuinely impressive and blows away most of the others in my collection. As someone else mentioned, the edges of the disks are razor-sharp, and they're not exaggerating; these things are cut sharp, so be careful handling them.
From the get-go, I've been a massive Ben Folds enthusiast, but I was unsure about this album and only bought it due to an irresistible steal of a deal. I'm really glad I did, though! The first record is pretty much like a typical Ben Folds solo album from recent years, just with some extra orchestral touches, while the second record is all orchestral pieces on side 3 and instrumental versions of some songs from the first disc on side 4. Every track and piece is brilliantly composed and a delight to listen to. Plus, the mastering on this vinyl is outstanding. The background is completely silent, and every instrument and vocal performance is rich and vibrant. I'm truly impressed with this album and would recommend it to any Ben Folds fan or anyone looking for an affordable record to showcase their sound system's capabilities. UPDATE: The LPs in my copy of this album have the sharpest edges I've ever encountered. Disc 2 actually cut my finger pretty bad with just normal handling. So, handle these with care.
The album is fantastic; exactly what I've come to anticipate from Ben Folds. I attended one of his orchestra-backed concerts, and this album definitely matches that live experience. The pressing is solid and the packaging is superb. The sleeves are top-notch and the bonus features are a delightful addition.
