I nearly overlooked this, having initially purchased the white vinyl version which was terrible, filled with surface noise and skips. This black edition isn't flawless (side d has a couple of clicks), but I haven't cleaned it yet. Overjoyed to finally own a copy, though I'm skeptical that Sylvian will release a follow-up.
At last, I have a vinyl copy of this incredible album in my collection! I haven't had any other version of it before, but I'm truly amazed by the one I'm now holding and listening to! The sound quality is flawless, with no noise, and the double black vinyl is perfect. The gatefold is just right, and the inner sleeves with the lyrics are a nice touch. A big thanks to the person who recommended this reissue after the last vinyl RSD release!
Your feet lift off the ground and you're floating above the clouds. It's a beautiful world, you give and you take, and the sun lights up the sky in the space where you live. It's a day packed with dreams, a dream of a day, and the happiness it brings almost carries her away.” Snow Borne Sorrow is bursting with gorgeous sadness and the tunes soar so high. “Here come the darkest birds, all black and feathers, why didn't any of them dream of making things better?” Trumpet, saxophone, clarinet create a real musical tapestry, adding to the songs' especially delicate charms. “I'm having my day, my moment in the sun. I'll grow to look like the man I've become. There'll be time for thought when I reach that peak, when the battle has been won, no more to go.” And all those polished harmonies make the album truly one-of-a-kind.
I'm begging you, release this on vinyl! The whole album is absolutely brilliant, every single track is perfect.
Fantastic pressing, all four sides are flawless, no pops or any other annoying problems. It plays incredibly quiet, perfectly flat and with excellent dynamics, deep and wide soundstage. Sound quality is a 9.5 out of 10. Can't vouch for other owners having bad pressings with issues. Thrilled with this amazing release.
