  • Hip-Hop Gem from Detroit

    5 out of 5 stars
    tehkpdipNovember 19, 2024United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

One of the dopest hip-hop albums to drop in recent times. More skill than Royce's height came together on this, many of them not so well-known, but all hailing from the D. And let's not forget the tracks are all built on Apollo Brown's soulful, melancholic beats that stay true to the boom-bap roots, (word up). I usually ain't into long albums, and this one's 80 minutes, but I can't even pick what to cut. Two full LPs jam-packed with love letters to the blue-collar Motor City. If I had to pick favorites, I'd say "The Backbone", "Dominance", "Over Do It", and "Can't Lose". But honestly, you could just drop the needle anywhere and find a gem. Apollo, you did that!

  • Orange Sells Out, Green Arrives

The orange ones flew off the shelves in under 2 months, and MMG's already out with a green version.
