Second Opinion - Peter Erskine

Product description

Dive into the world of jazz fusion with Peter Erskine and his band, the Dr. Um Band, as they present their 2017 album "Second Opinion." This captivating collection of nine tracks showcases Erskine's exceptional talent and his ability to blend various genres seamlessly. From funky originals to enchanting covers, such as those inspired by the legendary Henry Mancini, this album is a testament to Erskine's versatility and musical prowess.

"Second Opinion" is a follow-up to Erskine's successful return to fusion jazz, proving that his initial foray into the genre was no fleeting experiment. The album features collaborations with notable musicians like John Beasley, Bob Sheppard, and Benjamin Shepherd, adding layers of depth and richness to the compositions. Tracks like "Hipnotheraphy," "Eleven Eleven," and "Street of Dreams" highlight the band's dynamic range, while "Willow Weep for Me" offers a soulful and introspective moment.

Produced by Peter Erskine himself, with co-production credits to John Beasley and Mark Hornsby, the album was released under Zenart Records and spans a duration of 57 minutes. Whether you're a longtime fan of jazz fusion or a newcomer looking to explore the genre, "Second Opinion" offers a refreshing and engaging listening experience. Erskine's witty and inventive approach to music ensures that this album is a standout addition to any jazz enthusiast's collection.
