Product description

Immerse yourself in the enchanting harmonies and intricate compositions of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir with their captivating album released on May 11, 2018, under the Ondine label. This remarkable collection showcases the choir's exceptional skill and versatility, featuring a blend of choral masterpieces and minimalist arrangements that span a rich tapestry of musical expression.

The album opens with Robert Schumann's "Vom Pagen und der Königstochter, Op. 140," a four-part ballad that weaves a tale of royalty and romance through lush, evocative choral textures. Following this, the choir takes on Johann Sebastian Bach's "Herr, gehe nicht ins Gericht mit deinem Knecht, BWV 105," a profound and introspective cantata arranged by Schumann. Each movement of this sacred work is rendered with exquisite precision and emotional depth, highlighting the choir's ability to convey the spiritual and humanistic essence of Bach's music.

The second half of the album is dedicated to Schumann's "Adventlied, Op. 71," a seven-part choral work that captures the anticipation and reverence of the Advent season. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir brings a sense of warmth and devotion to these pieces, making them a perfect accompaniment for the holiday season and beyond.

With a total runtime of 1 hour and 10 minutes, this album offers a comprehensive exploration of the choir's artistic range and technical prowess. Whether you're a longtime fan of choral music or a newcomer looking to explore the genre, this album is sure to delight and inspire. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir's impeccable musicianship and the timeless beauty of the compositions make this a standout release that will resonate with listeners long after the final note fades away.
