Product description

Dive into the enchanting world of chamber music with "Scaramouche and Other Concertos for Wind Instruments," a captivating album released by Ludmila Peterková on December 20, 1997. This exquisite collection features a blend of solo and orchestral performances that showcase the virtuosity of Peterková and her collaborators.

The album kicks off with Darius Milhaud's "Scaramouche," a lively and spirited piece that sets the tone for the entire collection. The work is divided into three movements, each offering a unique blend of energy and finesse. Following this, the album presents a variety of concertos and arrangements that highlight the versatility and skill of the performers.

Ludmila Peterková takes the lead on several tracks, including the "Clarinet Concerto," where her mastery of the instrument shines through in a performance that is both technically impressive and deeply expressive. Radek Baborák, another standout soloist, delivers a powerful rendition of the "Concerto for French Horn and String Orchestra, Op. 65," showcasing his dynamic range and control.

The Prague Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Jiří Bělohlávek, provides a rich and nuanced backdrop for these solo performances. Their precision and sensitivity to the music's nuances add depth and richness to each piece.

"Scaramouche and Other Concertos for Wind Instruments" is a testament to the beauty and complexity of chamber music. With its diverse repertoire and exceptional performances, this album is a treasure trove for both classical music enthusiasts and casual listeners alike. Whether you're a fan of the clarinet, French horn, or simply appreciate finely crafted music, this album offers a delightful journey through some of the most beloved works in the chamber music canon.
