Product description

Dive into the enchanting world of classical music with Michel Dalberto's 1980 album, "Satie : Cinéma, Sonnerie & Vexations." This captivating collection showcases Dalberto's mastery of the piano, featuring a blend of Erik Satie's whimsical and introspective compositions alongside Paul Hindemith's innovative works for the Trautonium.

The album opens with Satie's "Cinéma, entr'acte symphonique de Relâche," a delightful interlude that sets the stage for the eclectic journey ahead. Dalberto's delicate touch and nuanced phrasing bring Satie's playful "Sonnerie pour réveiller le bon gros roi des singes" to life, while his renditions of "Musique d'ameublement" pieces offer a soothing, almost ambient experience. The inclusion of Satie's notorious "Vexations," performed with meticulous precision, is a highlight, showcasing Dalberto's technical prowess and interpretive depth.

Complementing Satie's works are Hindemith's three movements from the "Konzertstück" for Trautonium and strings, performed with the renowned Oskar Sala. These pieces, ranging from the lively "I Leicht bewegt" to the lyrical "II Lied" and the rhythmic "III Im ersten Zeitmass," demonstrate Hindemith's inventive use of the Trautonium, an early electronic instrument.

Recorded in February 1980 at the Eglise, this album is a testament to Dalberto's artistry and the enduring appeal of these compositions. Whether you're a seasoned classical aficionado or a newcomer to the genre, this album promises a rich and rewarding listening experience.
