About Luigi Rossi

Luigi Rossi, an esteemed Italian Baroque composer, hails from the quaint town of Torremaggiore near Foggia, in the historic kingdom of Naples. His musical journey began at a young age when he ventured to Naples to study under the renowned Franco-Flemish composer Jean de Macque. Macque, known for his prowess as an organist at the Santa Casa dell’Annunziata and maestro di cappella to the Spanish viceroy, undoubtedly left a profound impact on Rossi's early musical development. Following his studies, Rossi went on to serve the influential Caetani family, dukes of Traetta, further enriching his artistic legacy. Rossi's compositions, steeped in the rich traditions of the Baroque era, continue to captivate audiences with their intricate melodies and emotional depth.
