His genres ranged from American folk music and sea shanties to Appalachian folk, making him a versatile and beloved figure in the folk music scene. Brand was not just a musician but also a radio host, author, and playwright, hosting the Folksong Festival on WNYC AM for over seven decades. His work, including notable albums like "100 Proof Drinking Songs" and "Folk Songs For Fun," continues to resonate with fans, offering a rich tapestry of musical experiences.
