Naked: Sitar Masterpiece

The 'Album Version' of 'Naked' is an absolutely breathtaking piece of sitar music. Anoushka Shankar has truly outdone herself with this masterpiece. I initially got Anoushka Shankar - Rise as a freebie on CD and then stumbled upon this remix EP on vinyl not long after. I was thrilled they included the original 'Naked' LP track as well, because honestly, none of the other mixes were up to par. They just didn't enhance Anoushka Shankar's already flawless music, in my humble opinion. 'Naked' sounds absolutely divine on this pressing. That's why I ended up buying a total of five copies at Virgin Megastore in Times Square. They were on sale and only costed $2 plus tax each. Back then, vinyl was hardly popular, let alone such a unique release like this - except for me, of course 😉😂. Anyway, 'Naked' has this incredible ability to touch a sacred place within your soul that most other music can't reach. It's so captivatingly deep, transcendent, and hypnotic. I can't recommend it enough 😇👍.

The remixes certainly bring something extra to the table, I must say I enjoy them more than the original tracks. However, since a couple of these remixes are already included in the Rise album, if you're a fan of her less electronic-focused work, I'd suggest just picking up that one. I initially had the promo version of the album which didn't include the remixes, so I decided to check this out.
