  • 70s Country Gem

The audio quality is quite alright. It's got that usual overproduced 70s Capitol country sound, so it's a bit murky in the middle frequencies, the bass could use more clarity, and the vocals are a tad thin to accommodate the orchestration and backup singers. But that's what equalizers are for, isn't it? It's a fantastic album, no doubt. Glen and Jimmy were an unbeatable duo. I'm particularly fond of the songs Jimmy Webb wrote, so this album is a real gem. It's a shame it's never received a proper remaster and high-quality pressing. I would have loved for them to include my two favorite Webb compositions: "Wichita Lineman" and "...Phoenix." I don't get why they chose the Lowell George track instead of one or both of those. Removing it would have made space for both. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The audio quality is quite alright. It's got that classic overproduced 70s Capitol country sound, which means it's a bit muddy in the middle frequencies, the bass could use more clarity, and the vocals are a touch thin to accommodate the orchestra and backup singers. But that's what equalizers are for, isn't it? Despite that, it's a fantastic album. Glen and Jimmy were an incredible duo. I'm particularly fond of the songs Jimmy Webb wrote, so this album is a real gem. It's a shame it's never been properly remastered or pressed with high quality. I would have loved for them to include my two favorite Jimmy Webb songs: "Wichita Lineman" and "...Phoenix." I don't get why they chose the Lowell George track instead of one or both of those. If they had cut that one, there would have been plenty of space for both. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
