Live albums aren't really my thing, but Taj Mahal's signature sound and those groovy tunes make this one a solid pick.
Taj truly outdoes himself with this phenomenal album. It's an absolute masterpiece, featuring outstanding performances and top-notch recording quality. The pressing is also superb.
Absolutely one of the all-time greats. Plus, grab this specific release if you're after hearing one of THE FINEST remasterings of an old blues legend getting intimate with his mic and guitar. Seriously.
Recycling The Blues is a pretty chill album. The first half (live) showcases various aspects of Taj's musical tastes - from blues, to soul, to more classic African influences. The second half (studio) even features The Pointer Sisters joining him. It's all quite enjoyable. No major issues, though nothing particularly exceptional either. But it's kind of a fun album to have on sometimes.
