Product description

Ólafur Arnalds' "re:member" is a captivating blend of neoclassical and minimalist genres, released in August 2018 under Decca Music Group Ltd. This fourth solo album from the Icelandic composer spans 47 minutes and features 12 tracks, including the title track that serves as an overture, introducing a unique fusion of solo piano, strings, and Arnalds' innovative software, Stratus, which transforms the piano into a distinctive new instrument. The album stands out as the least melancholic of Arnalds' works, offering a refreshing mix of synths, acoustic strings, and piano. "re:member" is a testament to Arnalds' groundbreaking use of technology and his ability to create expansive, ambient soundscapes that blend pulse, pattern, and intoxicating melodies.

This 2024 Reissue LP is pressed on Blue vinyl.

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

  • Incorrect 7" Song Lengths

    5 out of 5 stars
    Fenicet6October 12, 2025United States🇺🇸

The song lengths on the 7" are incorrect. Saman: 2:48, Momentary: 2:10, NYEPI: 4:17." (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same casual tone, length, and specific details as the original. It also mirrors the original's lack of punctuation after the song titles and the use of colons to separate the song titles from their respective durations.)

  • Vinyl's Superior Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    YuzjlbMay 17, 2025United States🇺🇸

Amazing pressing quality! I can hear details that the digital version missed. The mastering is incredibly detailed, and the bass is even better than the digital format. I highly suggest it.

  • Disappointing Vinyl Pressing Quality

    4 out of 5 stars
    LeagModMoqol.March 9, 2025United States🇺🇸

The pressing quality isn't quite up to par, I must say. My copy has some bothersome crackles, unfortunately mostly on the 7". It's not a huge deal since I already have the clear version with better pressing quality, and compared to other vinyls, it's still alright. I'm just disappointed because all my other Ólafur-vinyls had truly excellent pressing quality!

  • Incredible Sound Design

    5 out of 5 stars
    romkknukudibucnDecember 27, 2024United States🇺🇸

Delighted with the quality of this record. My copy is smooth and quiet, with no annoying sounds. The sound design is incredible.

  • Ólafur Arnalds: Vinyl Without Digital

    3 out of 5 stars
    oozxaudeukuNovember 29, 2024United States🇺🇸

Another breathtaking album from the talented Ólafur Arnalds. This musical journey expertly transitions from delicate piano pieces to an electrifying electronic finale. The audio quality is superb, and the vinyl itself feels incredibly sturdy. However, I must rate this 'item' 3 out of 5, as it lacks any digital copy whatsoever. This omission is truly frustrating. His regular label, erased tapes, always goes the extra mile for their customers, unlike Universal/Mercury KX/Decca. It wouldn’t cost them much to include digital copies. Some labels even include CDs! So, the absence of any digital option really bothers me. Nevertheless, a huge thanks to Ólafur for his incredible music.
