The mastering on this one is way too loud. The CD version doesn't have much dynamic range, but the vinyl tracks sound really muffled, like they're coming through a busted speaker. Could be the mixing, but Ian Gillan's vocals sound like he's just mouthing into the mic. Plus, my copy's got some surface noise on side one, even after cleaning; it's really noticeable at the start of Money Talks. I wouldn't recommend buying this record unless you're a serious collector.

After spinning just the first record, I must say, this album is an absolute banger! The silence is deafening, the transparent blue color is stunning, and the bass? Oh, it's thick and heavy, not at all boomy. The new mix is fantastic. It's flawless, no clicks on the first LP, so I'm guessing the rest are just as well done. Go ahead and purchase with confidence. Update: The other pressings are as perfect as the first LP... and you can really hear Roger Glover's touch in the remix... did I mention that incredible bass? It's definitely giving my subwoofer a workout!
