This album is fantastic, and the pressing sounds absolutely incredible, it's pure magic.
I'm just chilling in my chair, listening... and it's absolutely breathtaking... such a genuine treasure - to be honest, I wasn't anticipating this level of depth... the songs are flowing in that quintessential Scandinavian top-notch production and they're just GROOVING - what more could you want than something that touches your soul? I recall a few years back (12, to be exact) when I first heard an album called Headcleaner... it was just HUGE... and now, once again - wow, thank you so much, Magnus. Sorry this isn't a proper review of each track - I need to listen over and over... and it just keeps growing and growing on me.
I'm really let down by my purchase of this vinyl record. It's not because the music is poor (it's actually a fantastic album that I'd generally endorse), but because this album, along with the other two I ordered from this label, arrived in a dreadful state. The vinyl is so full of noise that it completely spoils the music; the pops and clicks utterly destroy ambient tracks like these. I find it appalling that a product is delivered in such a condition. I've been attempting to clean the records for a week now, and I still can't eliminate all the noise. This has been my consistent experience with all vinyl albums I've bought from this label. While it's possible that a cleaning machine could remove all the noise, I don't believe most consumers can easily afford such a device. I certainly can't, and I think any pressing that can't be adequately cleaned by an average person to allow for simple listening without clicks and pops throughout the entire album is simply unacceptable. I genuinely believe that Sidereal needs to improve the quality control of their vinyl pressings, and I would NOT advise anyone to buy this unless they possess a cleaning machine capable of removing all the grime from the records.
