Product description

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of jazz with "R&R" by Ruby Braff, a captivating album released in 1979 under the Chiaroscuro Records label. This enchanting collection of 19 tracks, spanning a generous 1 hour and 9 minutes, showcases the masterful interplay between Ruby Braff on cornet and the legendary Ralph Sutton on piano. The album is a delightful blend of classic jazz standards and lesser-known gems, featuring a mix of duets and quartet performances that highlight the incredible chemistry between Braff and Sutton.

From the lively "Shoe Shine Boy" to the sultry "Royal Garden Blues," each track is a testament to the artists' virtuosity and their deep understanding of the jazz tradition. The quartet selections, featuring bassist Jack Lesberg and drummer Gus Johnson, add a rich, dynamic layer to the album, while the intimate duets between Braff and Sutton offer a more personal and nuanced listening experience. Standout tracks like "I Ain't Got Nobody" and "Dinah" showcase the artists' ability to breathe new life into familiar tunes, while "I Wished On The Moon" and "Think Well Of Me" reveal their tender, melodic side.

"R&R" is not just an album; it's a journey through the golden age of jazz, guided by two of its most respected and beloved practitioners. Whether you're a longtime fan of Ruby Braff or a newcomer to his music, this album is sure to captivate and inspire. So sit back, relax, and let the enchanting melodies and masterful performances of "R&R" transport you to a world of timeless elegance and musical brilliance.
