An ingenious blend of acoustic and electronic sounds results in another Tri-hop gem from Bristol, West England. Looking for vocals that'll make you swoon? You've got them. Need deep, pulsating basslines? They're here. Want electronic/dance tracks that'll knock your socks off? You're covered. This album's got more musical brilliance than you can handle. My two discs are flawless, with zero noise or warp, and they're perfectly centered on the spindle. Interestingly, both my discs are heavier than they should be. The first disc (sides A&B) tips the scales at 191g, while the second (sides C&D) comes in at 194g. So, I'd confidently say my edition is a 200g double LP. What do you think? Absolutely incredible! The flat pressing is spotless. It's dynamic with a great sound stage. The sound is full, warm, and rich. This one was nailed!
Does the original plastic covering on this thing run the risk of making the vinyl all foggy? I've got a sealed version (it's actually the one I sent in to get this release done 22 years back!) Should I take it off?
In my opinion, the single vinyl release outshines the 2lp set... the audio is more restrained, better balanced n' more thoughtfully mastered, without any loss of punch or impact, there's plenty of energy and immediacy to satisfy! Just a heads up, you'll need a top-notch tonearm and a high-quality cartridge 'cause side b stretches over 29+ minutes n' those grooves are pretty close together ;-)
This pressing is absolutely mind-blowing! I now get why it's so highly regarded! The sound quality is off the charts! Simply astonishing.
