Before you say hello to mom and dad, give this a spin. The stereo version blows the mono out of the water. If you're of a certain age and your brain's bigger than a pea, you'll catch nearly every cultural nod in the show. Plus, it's got to be the most vibrant record of its time, but balanced. I've been enjoying this for half a century and still love it every time. If you're not getting "the comedy," ask your folks or grandparents to help with the hints. 5/24: sounds way better with my shabata stylus ATS14. Playing part of the grove that is worn in?

I'm thrilled to have finally found "Togetherness," which now makes my AS collection complete. I'm sharing this on MSTFS because this is the only Alan Sherman record I have in Stereo, and over the years of searching and passing on other copies, I've never come across stereo versions of his other albums. I reckon if I had them all, my collection could be worth around twenty or thirty bucks?................ RIP Tommy Smothers ................

Before you say hello to mom and dad, give this a spin. The stereo version is way superior to the mono. If you're of a certain age and your brain's bigger than a pea, you'll catch nearly all the cultural nods in the show. It's also got to be the most vibrant record from that time, but it's not one-sided. I've been enjoying this for half a century and adore it every single time. If you're not getting "the comedy," ask your folks or grandparents to help you with the hints. 5/24: sounds way better with my shabata stylus ATS14. Playing part of the grove that is worn in?

About Allan Sherman

Allan Sherman, the master of musical parody, burst onto the scene in the early 1960s with his unique blend of humour and satire. Known for his rapid-fire wit and clever lyrics, Sherman's debut album, 'My Son, the Folk Singer' (1962), set a record for fastest-selling album at the time. His most enduring hit, 'Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh!' (1963), remains a beloved classic, with Sherman's comedic take on a boy's summer camp experiences set to the tune of Ponchielli's 'Dance of the Hours'.
