Incredibly fantastic and yet oddly overlooked Italian jazz from '63. It's got that hard bop and modal vibe but also teases free jazz in thrilling and surprising ways. If you couldn't see and someone said this was a lost recording by Coltrane or Ornette, you'd totally buy it. A buddy of mine even thinks this take on “So What” tops Miles'. That's some strong stuff right there.
