Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
The album cover might lead you to believe it's all about Indian and meditation music, but that's not the case at all! The first half ("Peace") is a wonderful journey through melodies, sounds, and textures, featuring guitar, amazing violin by Jerry Goodman (from The Flock), Indian instruments, and a fantastic group of jazz musicians backing them up. It's a delightful listen from start to finish, always graceful and beautiful, yet full of energy and drive. The second half, though, feels quite traditional compared to what John McLaughlin was doing around that time. It's mostly peaceful acoustic guitar with some occasional percussion. There's a mix of covers and originals, but all are performed brilliantly by this incredibly skilled guitarist. This album truly creates a wonderful atmosphere.
