Product description

Discover the exquisite artistry of Bram van Sambeek in his captivating album, "Mozart, Weber & Du Puy: Bassoon Concertos." Released on April 3, 2020, under the prestigious BIS label, this chamber music collection showcases van Sambeek's mastery of the bassoon through a series of enchanting concertos. The album features works by three renowned composers: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Carl Maria von Weber, and an unpublished concerto by Jean-François Du Puy, unearthed by van Sambeek during his research at the Swedish National Library.

The album spans a total of nine tracks, with each concerto divided into three distinct movements. Bram van Sambeek is accompanied by the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Alexei Ogrintchouk, delivering a performance that is both technically impressive and deeply expressive. The concertos in B-Flat Major (Mozart), F Major (Weber), and C Minor (Du Puy) offer a rich tapestry of musical styles and emotions, from the lively Allegro movements to the tender Adagios and spirited Rondos.

With a duration of 1 hour and 6 minutes, this album is a testament to van Sambeek's dedication to his craft and his passion for bringing lesser-known works to light. Whether you're a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album promises a delightful and enriching listening experience.
