Product description

Immerse yourself in the powerful and dramatic world of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 6 in A Minor, masterfully conducted by the renowned Vladimir Ashkenazy and performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Released on November 11, 2011, under the Sydney Symphony Live label, this album is a testament to the rich romantic style of classical music that Mahler is celebrated for.

The symphony, composed between 1903 and 1904 with revisions in 1906, is divided into four movements, each offering a unique emotional and musical journey. From the intense and energetic "Allegro energico, ma non troppo" to the graceful and moderate "Finale. Allegro moderato," Ashkenazy's interpretation brings out the depth and complexity of Mahler's composition. The album spans a total of 1 hour and 14 minutes, providing a comprehensive experience of this monumental work.

Vladimir Ashkenazy, a living legend in the world of classical music, brings his unparalleled expertise and passion to this performance. His collaboration with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra results in a rendition that is both powerful and nuanced, capturing the essence of Mahler's "Tragic" symphony. Whether you are a seasoned classical music enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, this album offers a captivating exploration of one of Mahler's most significant works.
