Product description

Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of classical music with William Steinberg's captivating album, "Mahler: Symphony No. 1 - Elgar: Enigma Variations - Strauss: Der Rosenkavalier Suite." This exquisite collection, released on December 1, 2014, under Urania Records, showcases the brilliance of three master composers: Gustav Mahler, Edward Elgar, and Richard Strauss.

The album opens with Mahler's Symphony No. 1 in D Major, also known as the "Titan," a powerful and evocative work that sets the stage for the journey ahead. Steinberg's interpretation is both dynamic and nuanced, bringing out the depth and complexity of Mahler's composition.

Next, Elgar's "Enigma Variations" takes center stage. This suite of fourteen variations, each dedicated to a friend of the composer, is a testament to Elgar's ability to convey a range of emotions and personalities through music. Steinberg's rendition is both sensitive and expressive, capturing the essence of each variation.

The album concludes with Richard Strauss's "Der Rosenkavalier Suite," a selection of highlights from the opera that showcases Strauss's lyrical and dramatic genius. Steinberg's conducting is both precise and passionate, bringing out the rich harmonies and vivid orchestration of Strauss's score.

With a total runtime of 2 hours and 32 minutes, this album is a comprehensive exploration of some of the most beloved works in the classical repertoire. Whether you're a seasoned classical enthusiast or a newcomer to the genre, William Steinberg's masterful interpretations are sure to captivate and inspire.
